Stool or side table
brut 01, a seating object that takes on the challenge to bring active sitting and aesthetics together. brut 01 combines the rich look and quality of natural stone with the technological mindset of adding a self-developed part which makes it possible to sit more dynamically. By creating a part made of a solid but flexible rubber material, the top of the object becomes movable when one sits on it. This solution not only makes sitting more enjoyable but offers the necessary ergonomics as well. In the collection 01 version, brut 01 is crafted by our wood specialists in black wood stained American ash. The jury of the Biënnale Interieur Objects Awards 2018 selected the collectibles marble version as one of the winning prototypes that was shown at the event.
Its purpose is to stimulate legs and hips into active sitting. It is designed in such a way that it will motivate the sitter into leaning in all directions and consequently activate your hips lightly. Not only the aspect of active sitting adds value, also the pronounced solid form creates a strong statement even when just standing alone in your interior. Sam also made arch 01 as an active sitting stool.
Made out of solid wood, American ash and colored warm black, it is an eye pleasing object to look at. Thanks to the beautiful ash wood, it has a very distinct wood pattern all around. The flexible material is carefully tuned to the color of the base unit.
